[edit] Season 1
Season 1 introduces us to the characters of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch. Rumors of downsizing create a sense of anxiety in the office.
[edit] Season 2
Season 2 further introduces us to the characters in the office, with dramatic emphasis on the relationship between Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly. Secondary characters receive greater attention than in the first season.
The beginning of the season is dominated by the continuing threat of downsizing, whereas the end of the season deals with the effect of Pam and Roy's upcoming wedding on Jim.
[edit] Season 3
Jim Halpert begins the season in the Stamford branch, having moved there to avoid the pain of his unrequited feelings for Pam, who (unknown to Jim) cancelled her wedding with Roy. When the Stamford and Scranton branches merge, the two are brought back together, but things aren't the same: Jim has a new girlfriend.
The season's primary dramatic focus is the gradual emergence of a newer, more confident Pam.
[edit] Season 4
Jim and Pam are happily dating, but other relationships in the office are less blissful.
