The Hunted

The Hunted is a band whose lead singer is Hunter, Jan's former assistant. One of their songs is titled "That One Night". This song is about how Jan "made him a man." Jim stole the CD from Jan during the episode "Dinner Party".

The first mention of Hunter's band is in the episode "The Job". Jan gives Hunter a farewell hug, saying "Good luck with your band," and adding "Don't let them change you."

The words to the song "That One Night" were written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. The music was written and performed by Todd Fancy of The New Pornographers.[1] Fancy recorded an extended version including additional lyrics. Listen.

Lyrics[]

Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky wrote additional verses for the song which were not included in the episode.

You were a queen,
And I was your servant
Travel to lands we've never been
My love for you is fervent.

You took me by the hand
Made me a man
I'd walk through snow, rain or sand
Without a compass, a map or a plan

That one night
You made everything all right
So raw, so right, all night, all right
Oh yeah

Like a fine wine that's reached its time
You're aged to perfection.
And I was ready to dine
I needed your confection, yeah

That one night
You made everything all right

I dreamt about making you my princess
I dreamt about a world with no painful conceal
I dreamt about taking you away from this distress
But what if my dreams were real, don't protest

That one night
You made everything all right
So raw, so right, all night, all right
Oh yeah

People talk, let 'em
Parents scowl, forget 'em
Corporate rules, eff'em
'Cause it ain't up to 'em
It's up to us

That one night
You made everything all right
So raw, so right, all night, all right
Oh yeah

All right
All night
That one night
That one night
