Cathy develops an attraction to Jim during her time at the office. The first hint to the viewer is at the [[Pool Party]] when, when asked to join in the chicken fight, Cathy says that she wants Jim (who is not in the room) to be her partner. The first explicit allusion to her crush is in [[Special Project]] when she mentions her desire to seduce Jim in a phone call. She accompanies Dwight, Jim, Stanley, and Erin to Florida to help develop Sabre stores. One evening in the hotel she enters Jim's room and attempts to seduce him, showering in his bathroom and lounging in his bed. Despite her efforts, Jim is simply uncomfortable with her advances and turns her down. Afterwards, she seems angry with Jim and returns to Scranton with the rest of the employees. She is not heard from after this, probably because Pam has been back from maternity leave for some time at this point.
